The Total Package
From design concept in AutoCAD to file importation and part production, Ercolina has the CNC mandrel bending solution for you. Both the Ercobender 65 and the ErcoBender 76 machines are capable of importing CAD files (IGES and DXF) directly into the machines control and converting them to a part program. IGES and DXF files produced in software such as AutoCAD, Solid Works, Solid Edge, and Designer can quickly and easily be imported into the machines control. This process eliminates possible error when entering part data directly at the pulpit. File importation coupled with the ability to simulate the piece prior to bending make the Erco Bender series machines an incredible value and time saver.

Did You Know…
… What in the world is swaging?
The term “swage” comes from the Old French term souage, meaning “decorative groove” or “ornamental moulding.” Swages were originally tools of the blacksmith trade, used for forming metal into various shapes which were too intricate to make with a hammer alone.
Tube swaging involves extrusion of the work piece, forcing it through a confining die to reduce its diameter.
Ercolina’s Era Press machines expand and reduce tube and pipe ends, function as a metalworking press, and offer tooling for flaring and flanging. Call our sales team to find out more!
Quality Material = Better Mandrel Fit and More Appealing Bends
The weld seam on HREW tube can vary tremendously from vendor to vendor. The protrusion of this seam on the inside diameter can affect the fit of the internal mandrel. Mandrels are typically sized to within twenty-five thousandths (.025) of the materials I.D. If the weld seam interferes with the fit of the mandrel, there are only two options with existing mandrels. One, a groove can be ground into the mandrel to allow for the seam or a severely undersize mandrel can be utilized. The first option means that the customer must take note of the seam and load his material exactly on the groove cut. The second option of an undersized mandrel will yield less than an optimal quality bend. The ideal solution is to ask your material supplier to provide you with “flash controlled” tube or pipe. This means that the weld seam can be minimized and controlled. Better raw material leads to a better quality finished product.
